Compliance software, shipped faster: how EQS Group builds with Claude CodeCompliance software, shipped faster: how EQS Group builds with Claude Code
Summary
EQS Group's engineering teams, including the Exadel engineers working across eight EQS product workstreams, built with Claude Code as their primary AI tool. Since the rollout it has become the most used AI tool in EQS engineering, and the teams are seeing a 100% increase in throughput.
Description

The Challenge
EQS Group provides software for compliance, ethics, whistleblowing, data privacy, sustainability and ESG reporting, AI governance and investor relations to more than 14,000 customer organizations in 80 countries. Every one of those products tracks regulation that keeps changing, so the engineering backlog grows faster than any team can hire.
EQS decided early that AI would be part of how the company works, not an experiment on the side. In late 2025, following a rollout of Claude Code to all Engineers, it opened an internal Claude Marketplace so that every team could adopt the same tools under the same governance. The question was whether that adoption of AI in Engineering would show up in an increased delivery pace.
This is the first paper in a three-part series. Whitepaper 2 covers Operational Excellence. Whitepaper 3 covers Implementation, Roadmap, and Cloud Deployment.

What EQS and Exadel did
Exadel provides engineering teams across eight EQS workstreams, from third-party risk and data privacy to insights and analytics, platform migrations and integrations. Those teams moved their daily development into Claude Code, in the terminal and inside the different IDEs used in the company, for pair programming, code generation and debugging. Automated tests are written alongside the code. Pull requests are reviewed faster and with more precision. The Claude SDK covers custom integrations and scripts, and Claude Cowork handles the day-to-day work around the code: reports, support bots and presentations.
Because the tools are EQS's own, the practices carry across every team on the platform. What one workstream learns about prompting, review or test generation becomes the standard for the next.
