Job hunting can be overwhelming. You might wonder, Am I doing enough to stand out? What are they looking for? How can I be sure I’m making the right impression?

These questions, and many others, often cause unnecessary stress and anxiety during the recruiting process. We’re committed to providing clarity and transparency for potential hires to ease uncertainty and pre-interview anxiety. From understanding what recruiters prioritize to mastering your interview, Zarina’s insights will help you confidently navigate the process.

How can a candidate best prepare for an interview at Exadel?

My advice is to present your experience clearly and honestly. Only include real expertise in your responses—it’s fine to admit that you haven’t worked with specific technologies. In that case, we’ll work together to find a more suitable role for you.

At Exadel, we have 3 main stages of interviews: first, with the recruiter, then with a technical specialist, and for those being hired into active projects, a customer interview. For the technical stage, review the job description to familiarize yourself with the required tech stack. This will give you an idea of what to expect in the interview.

Be sure to refresh your theoretical knowledge, as it will likely come up. Some technical interviews also include live coding, so practicing beforehand can help you feel more prepared.

Can you explain the role of technical assessments in our hiring process?

Technical assessments are an essential part of our process because they give us a clear understanding of your technical skills and expertise. They help us evaluate your experience level and determine the proper position for you – whether that’s middle, senior, or lead. It’s about ensuring we find your best fit in Exadel.

How does Exadel evaluate soft skills during the hiring process?

We have some questions that help us evaluate candidates’ soft skills in communication skills, responsibility, adaptability, and customer focus. I would highlight that we are strongly interested in how the candidate behaves during the interview and reacts to questions. This helps us provide feedback as well.

Tip from Recruiters: Example Soft Skill Questions

  • Describe a situation when team members on a project you were working on disagreed with your ideas. What did you do?
  • How do you interact successfully with the clients?

What are some common mistakes candidates make during the interview?

  • Joining the call in a bad mood

It will affect the interview atmosphere and make a wrong impression of your skills.

  • Being short-spoken

Sometimes, candidates answer with yes/no only. This can limit a recruiter’s understanding of a candidate’s experience and affect their feedback.

How does Exadel support new employees during their onboarding process?

At Exadel, we’re here to support you every step of the way during your onboarding process. Our HR team will help you with all the essentials, like documentation, contracts, and equipment setup.

On your first day, you’ll have an onboarding call with HR, and we’ll continue to check in throughout your probation period to ensure everything’s going smoothly. Your manager will also be there to guide you, and even your recruiter is just a message away if you need any extra help or have questions. We want to ensure you feel comfortable and supported as you start with us!
