COVID-19 has made profound impacts on the ways of working and living. At Exadel, we have seen first-hand how technology can help individuals and businesses thrive in times of unrest. This is why we put together the “Appery.io COVID-19 Virtual Hackathon.” On April 22, we asked the global developer community to come up with applications that could help vulnerable and afflicted groups, and we were truly inspired by the response!
Using Appery.io, a low-code application development platform created by Exadel, participants were asked to focus on areas like healthcare, mental health, assistance for the elderly and vulnerable, improving remote work, financial stability and maintaining a sense of community. Developers were free to be as innovative and unique as possible with minimal restrictions on application type or theme. With the help of Appery.io, participants were able to rapidly create applications that serve the global community. Submissions were due on May 6.
After a fantastic virtual event, we are thrilled to announce the Grand Prize winner of our “Appery.io COVID-19 Virtual Hackathon.” Katerina Zhadko, a freelance front-end developer based in Europe. Developers from around the world submitted apps for consideration and a panel of experts judged each submission based on a detailed set of criteria. Zhadko’s winning app named “COVID-19 Knowledge Test” aims to evaluate the degree of a user’s knowledge regarding COVID-19, and increase COVID-19 information literacy. Congratulations to Grand Prize Winner Katerina Zhadko for developing such an impactful and innovative application with Appery.io!
