We are looking for an ambitious and energetic Business Development Manager who will be responsible for building our sales pipeline, wins, partnerships, with a focus on new customers in Northeast USA.

Requirements:

  • At least ten years of sales experience, especially driving net new opportunities, in a software engineering services environment
  • High level of relevant domain knowledge in order to have meaningful conversations with prospects
  • Knowledge of various direct methods, including calling and face-to-face meetings, and indirect methods, such as networking
  • Knowledge of sales cycle from initial customer engagement to closed sales
  • Experience with managing sales contracts, tracking customers, and coordinating cross-functional activities across departments
  • Knowledge of blogging ecosystem relevant to the company’s field and sector
  • Ability to effectively communicate in written and verbal format and build and maintain relationships
  • Team player, with the confidence to take the lead on social strategy/tactics and guide other departments when necessary
  • Good knowledge of SEO principles
  • Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation abilities

Responsibilities: 

  • Establish relationships with new customers and secure contracts that achieve assigned sales quotas and targets
  • Refine customer segmentation, assist with territory management, and help create a plan to enhance upsell, cross-sell, and renewal processes
  • Drive the entire sales cycle, from initial customer engagement to closing sales
  • Prospect for potential customers using various direct methods, including calling and face-to-face meetings, and indirect methods, such as networking
  • Qualify prospects against company criteria for ideal customers and sales
  • Consult prospects about business challenges and requirements, as well as the range of options and benefits
  • Develop sales-related resource documents, including training manuals, procedures, and policies
  • Draft and deliver proposals
  • Develop and maintain key account plans that identify strategic motivators, main stakeholders, buying processes, forecasted sales, and opportunities for the company to deliver value
  • Report on sales activity
  • Provide forecasts on best cases and sales volumes over relevant time periods
  • Work with delivery teams to address problems proactively
  • Manage sales contracts, track customers, and coordinate cross-functional activities across departments
  • Provide feedback to company management on market trends, competitive threats, unmet needs, and opportunities
  • Track and analyze KPIs for growth, win/loss rates, upsells, renewals, and quota attainment, and identify individual performance areas for improvement
