We’re looking for an experienced Optical Design Engineer to join our innovative team backed by great people!

About the Customer:
The customer is an American firm that specializes in optical sporting equipment and outdoor products. It is based in Overland Park, Kansas. The customer produces binoculars, telescopes, spotting scopes, riflescopes, red dot sights, GPS devices, laser rangefinders, game cameras, night-vision devices and other optical equipment.

Project Details:

  • Working with the German branch office
  • 6-12 months involvement with possible prolongation
  • Full-time

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in the sphere
  • Proficient with Optical Design Software and methods of optical design & analysis
  • Degree in Optical Engineering preferred, but other engineering or scientific degrees with both experience and record of performance considered
  • Data analysis and clay
  • Attention to detail

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Zemax

English level:
Intermediate +

Responsibilities:

  • Designing large scale, complex and innovative optical systems
  • Stray light and tolerance analysis
  • SNR and atmospheric calculations
  • Manufacturing of optical components
  • Participate in planning of testing procedure
