A lot has happened with Exadel over the more than twenty years we have been around, but our unwavering commitment to extracting maximum business value out of technology for our clients has been a constant. Here are just a few milestones along the way.
Object Consulting (Exadel) Opens for Business.
The company has been registered in California in 1995, but doesn’t really start in earnest till the founder, Fima Katz, leaves Bank of America. Exadel opens an office in Concord, California (San Francisco Bay Area) that becomes the headquarters office as more offices are opened.
Exadel expands its presence to Russia with the opening of its first offshore development center in Moscow.
Company Name Changes to Eltegra
EXADEL Framework Released
EXADEL launches to provide a wide variety of ready-made components to rapidly build large complex web applications based on J2EE.
Company Name Changes to Exadel
Exadel expands its presence to Belarus with the opening of a development center in Minsk. This is the first development center outside of Russia for Exadel. The Minsk office has grown over time to be two separate offices, and the city is currently the location for the largest concentration of staff for Exadel (about half of all Exadel employees).
After the release of Struts Studio, an IDE for Struts development as an Eclipse plug-in, JSF Studio follows as an Eclipse plug-in for JSF development, the first JSF (JavaServer Faces) IDE.
Eclipse4Web launches to provide all the functionality of products like Struts Studio and ORM Hibernate Studio in one Eclipse plug-in.
Exadel Studio 3.0
Exadel renames Eclipse4Web as Exadel Studio.
Exadel Visual Components Platform Launched
EVCP launches to provide a comprehensive set of rich JSF components for use in development. EVCP will later be renamed RichFaces.
Exadel expands its presence to Ukraine with the opening of a development center in Kharkiv.
Red Hat Partnership
Exadel begins a partnership with Red Hat and puts Exadel Studio and RichFaces into open source under Red Hat’s JBoss division. As part of this partnership, JBoss contracts with Exadel to maintain and further develop the renamed JBoss Developer Studio.
741 Studios Acquisition
741 Studios, a technology and operations consulting firm with a set of ready-made fintech solutions, becomes a part of Exadel. Lev Shur and Igor Landes join the Exadel leadership team.
Exadel launches Tiggr Mobile App Platform to allow low-code mobile app development using jQuery mobile as a front end.
Exadel rebrands Tiggr as Tiggzi.
Progress Software OEM Partnership
Progress Software incorporates Tiggzi as a component of its Progress® OpenEdge® Mobile App Builder product and agrees to have Exadel provide further extensions for the Builder.
Headquarters Moved to Walnut Creek, California
The Exadel headquarters moves to its current location in Walnut Creek, California (San Francisco Bay Area).
RESTXpress launches as an easy-to-install REST API gateway that allows quick “RESTification” of corporate assets (SQL databases, SOAP services, etc.).
Exadel rebrands Tiggzi as Appery.io, now a complete mobile app platform for everything from development to deployment.
Exadel expands its presence to Lithuania with the opening of a development center in Vilnius.
Creating Appery, LLC
Exadel creates a new wholly owned subsidiary called Appery, LLC to house all Appery.io-related activities.
Verivo Software Assets Acquired
Appery acquires the major assets of Verivo Software, a leading provider of enterprise mobility software.
RESTXpress Becomes API Express
Appery renames RESTXPress as API Express and completely integrates it into the Appery platform.
Amadeus Consulting Acquired
Amadeus Consulting, a provider of innovative software strategy and development services in Boulder, Colorado, becomes a part of Exadel. Lisa Calkins and Jay Millard join the Exadel leadership team.
Akme Software Acquired (First Polish Office)
Akme Software, a software services company in Szczecin, Poland, becomes a part of Exadel.
ReeWise, a software services company in Warsaw, Poland with a focus on specific service offerings in big data and analytics, as well as business intelligence, becomes a part of Exadel.
Exadel creates a new business unit within the company headed by Lev Shur called Exadel Solutions to lead the company’s transition from a service and resource delivery organization to a global solutions provider. Part of the implementation of this strategy is the organization of cross-functional “practice areas” focused on specific aspects of cutting-edge technologies. (As of August 2019, three practice areas have been formed: Digital Marketing Technology, Digital Transformation, and Products & Platforms.)
Exadel expands its presence to Uzbekistan with the opening of a development center in Tashkent.
Exadel Innovation Cloud
"Innovation Lab" launches as a platform similar to Appery.io in its ease-of-use with dedicated consulting services included for testing advanced technologies in a sandbox environment. Rebranded as Exadel Innovation Cloud in September.
Exadel's new German subsidiary opens its first office in Dresden.
